Ingredients:
1 kg sugar
1 litre water
25g citric acid
500 ml lemon juice
Method:
Put sugar and water into saucepan, bring to boil stirring until sugar has dissolved. Boil for 5 minutes.
Add citric acid and stir. Mix in lemon juice and put aside until cool.
Pour into sterilised bottles and seal. This has a good shelf life if stored in a cool dark cupboard. It is very refreshing served with soda water but still an enjoyable drink served with cold water.
If you have a very sweet tooth put in an extra cup of sugar.
