Ingredients:
2 Kg star gooseberries (makes about 1 Kg pieces)
For every Kg of pieces, add:
1 large onion, diced
2 tomatoes, chopped
¼ tsp. cayenne pepper
¼ tsp. turmeric
340 g sugar
250 ml white vinegar
Method:
Slice gooseberries from seed in small pieces.
Add remaining ingredients and cook until soft.
Thicken with cornflour.
Pour into hot, sterilised jars and seal.
