FRIED ORANGE SLICES

Method:
Cut pithy ends from oranges and discard. Slice the fruit into thin rounds and cover both sides with a mixture of sugar and ground alspice.

Melt some butter or margarine and gently fry the orange slices, turning until the discs are lightly browned.

Serve hot with roast duck, rabbit, veal or pork.
