MANGO CHUTNEY

Ingredients:
4 cups sugar
1 bottle malt vinegar
15 mangoes partly ripe
1 Tbl salt
½ lb ginger
½ clove garlic
6 chillies or small tsp chilli powder

Method:
Boil sugar with ½ vinegar to a syrup.

Add other ingredients and remainder of vinegar by degrees.

Boil slowly until it is thickened.
