1 lb tamarillos
½ cup sugar
½ cup water
1 pkt strawberry jelly crystals

Skin the tamarillos and cut into slices. Add the water and sugar, simmer until fruit is tender.

Pass through a sieve or food mill to get a pulp. Do not put in a blender as this will break up the bitter seeds.

Measure the pulp and make it up with hot water to the amount of liquid necessary for dissolving the packet of jelly crystals. Blend the jelly into the hot pulp until completely dissolved. Pour into a mould and chill until set.
